Inside the Mind of the Skeptic, McFarland (SLS-2)
Alex McFarland starts this lecture recounting his conversion in college and how he quickly became interested in apologetics (1 Peter 3:15), for which he gives an detailed definition. He notes a Christian should be able to present, explain, and defend the faith. The primary motive for apologetics is to glorify God. It is key for evangelization and discipleship. Alex goes on to deals with the Big Five Questions: (1) Does truth exist? (2) Is God real? (3) Is the Bible trustworthy? (4) Was Jesus authentic? (5) Why is there pain and suffering? He examines the answers given by skeptics and Christians, including the four lines of evidence cited by believers: Creation, Conscience, Scripture, and Savior.
